Aldi is re-launching its giant Big Daddy steak and supersize sausages

It may not be summer just yet, but we’re definitely already experiencing BBQ weather – and to inspire you to get one cooking in the garden, Aldi is bringing back two of its best selling BBQ foods.

The super cheap supermarket is re-releasing its foot-long sausage and its ‘Big Daddy’ steak from Thursday this week.

The giant British rump steak is said to weigh nearly half a kilo – but it’ll only set you back £4.99, which is a total bargain.

The steak was a total success the first time it hit store shelves, completely selling out on Father’s Day last year, and then again for the August Bank Holiday weekend and in January of this year.

The supersize sausage, which has also gone on sale, is made from 100 per cent British meat, and costs £1.79 for a pack of two – which works out at 89p each.

Just a few weeks ago, we also announced that Aldi had .

Weighing in at an average of 1.3kg, the 14-day matured British ribeye steak costs just £12.99, making it up to 52% cheaper than the Waitrose equivalent.

The steak is made with 100% British beef and according to Aldi, is best served pan seared and rested for 15 minutes, served with a potato and avocado salad.

A spokesperson for Aldi told Metro: ‘We know that the meat is 100% British and we’ve spoken to the supplier who have let us know that their meat is grass fed, Farm Assured and Red Tractor Approved.’
