UNC, NC State, ECU baseball will host NCAA Regionals

There will be three NCAA Regionals in the state this year, in Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Greenville as North Carolina, NC State and East Carolina will host the first weekend of the national tournament next week.

The NCAA announced the 16 regional sites in this year’s tournament Sunday night, giving hosting rights to the Tar Heels (38-18), who won the ACC’s regular season, the Wolfpack (40-16) and the Pirates (43-16), who won the AAC Tournament Saturday.

The other regionals hosts are ACC Tournament Champion Florida State, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Stanford, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Florida, Arkansas, Stetson, Oregon State, Texas and Georgia.

At least three other teams from North Carolina are guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament after auto-qualifying. Campbell won the Big South Tournament Saturday, UNC Wilmington won the CAA Tournament and NC A&T won the MEAC.

Duke‘s 40-15 record and fourth-place conference finish should make the Blue Devils the seventh team from the state to get in.

The full Field of 64 will be announced during the selection show. Watch on ESPN-U at noon.
