Woman, 31, sells her official royal wedding gift bag on eBay for £21,400

Guests at and ’s wedding have made as much as £30,000 by selling their gift bags on eBay, it has been revealed.

Dozens of the goodie bags from the couple’s big day have appeared on the auction site, with some reaching five figures.

They are believed to have been given to a group of 1,200 non-VIPs chosen to see the royals and A-list guests from outside St George’s Chapel.

HR manager Claire Oliver is just one of more than 25 people that have cashed in on the royal wedding.

She is said to have made a cool £21,400 by selling the bag, which contained a souvenir order of service and a welcome letter from Harry and Meghan.

It also included shortbread, a commemorative magnet, Windsor Castle water, a large chocolate coin, shortbread and a voucher for the castle shop.

Miss Oliver, of south east London, told she did not want to discuss the auction.

But hours before the ceremony started, the 31-year-old tweeted: ‘I got to watch the royal wedding right outside Windsor Castle in this amazing setting. Such an amazing day #Golden ticket #Royal connections.’

She works for Troup Bywaters, which offers engineering apprenticeships to young workers – a cause backed by the prince.

Several of the gift bags are still on sale on eBay, and they have generated significant interest with dozens of bidders vying for them.

One of the eager sellers wrote: ‘Buy a piece of history and memorabilia to celebrate a momentous special day for Britain’s and the royal family’.


Collectors appear to be caught up in royal wedding hysteria with a number of different souvenirs up for grabs.

Some have even paid £5 for a PDF of the order of service – which can actually be downloaded for free from the royal family’s website.
